Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is GOOD, GLORIOUSLY GOOOOOD! It’s about Manny, Sid, and Diego heading out with the other herds to the other end of the valley. They’re trying to get on a boat that will save them from the flood that will come from the melting of the ice. The movie has a catchy song and great moments. There is romance but it’s not that bad. Some humor you might not get – but it’s still great. Ages 6 and up.

Liked Half of It

I liked the first part, I didn’t like the second part. I didn’t like the sea monsters.

PARENT REVIEW: History Kids Know

Teachers take note: Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is way more interesting than a textbook! Little facts about the Ice Age era are slipped into the storyline that led to a fascinating discussion on the way home about what some of the creatures are and what really happened during the end of the Ice Age . . . and the kids were the ones who knew the answers! As an adult, this movie is fairly unpredictable: mainly because WE know what happens to the Woolly Mammoth, the Sabre Tooth Tiger, and many of the other extinct creatures. At least three foul mouth jokes slip in there where a character uses a curse word’s literal meaning but said in a cursing way. Since extinction is one of the themes, there’s quite a bit of inferences and jokes about mating – fine, but I did have kids asking me “what’s a pervert?” For kids of all ages.
