Do yourself a favor and jump out of the theater. Jumper is about a guy (Hayden Christensen/Max Thieriot) with teleportation ability who uses it for personal gain. After a decade of operating with no consequences, he finds he's being pursued by a religious group who for centuries have hunted and killed jumpers. The battles between the two are entertaining because the jumpers teleport during their fights within the room and to other locations. At first, it may seem nice that it gets to the point fast, but after a while you realize that Jumper is going too fast. The story gets confusing and becomes a little ridiculous. Jumper showed promise but the lame story ends up leaving it splattered across the ground.

PARENT REVIEW: How 'Bout Calling This "Thief?"

Jumper is about a 15-year-old boy (Max Thieriot who "grows into" Hayden Christensen) who runs away from his abusive father when he discovers he has the ability to teleport. He supports himself by teleporting himself into bank vaults, taking money, and teleporting back to a safe place. While he leaves IOUs in the bank vaults, he doesn't seem to have any remorse and he continues to rob banks for the next decade. When life gets troublesome, he returns to see his childhood sweetheart and within hours they are on a plane together and things steam up quickly.

There is fighting but it's less graphic than anything you see in a videogame. However, because the character sees no problem in breaking the law in assorted ways, this is for middle-school age kids and older.
