BATTLE LOS ANGELES Director Looks to TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Written by Tara the Mom    Wednesday, 15 February 2012 00:00

UPDATE: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie reboot has been incubating for some time but now looks ready to hatch. Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles, the upcoming Wrath of the Titans) will direct from a top secret script by the writing team of Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol). The storyline is being kept quiet except that the film will be live-action. Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes production company are producing for Paramount.

Aug. 27, 2010 -- The writers of Iron Man have been hired to write the script for the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie. Art Marcum and Matt Holloway were also the writers behind Punisher: War Zone and the upcoming Buck Rogers movie. Paramount/Nickelodeon purchased the rights to TMNT for $60 million last year.

May 28, 2010: Honestly, does anyone REALLY care about seeing another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle anything? The official reboot, TMNT, did pretty well, actually, but it feels like an old franchise that just be left to die. Of course, the Turtles turned a decent shade of green in for Paramount so that's how sequels get made.

Creatively, even the studio thought TMNT left much to be desired so it's brought in Michael Bay (Transformers) and his Platinum Dunes production company in to cool it up and reboot it AGAIN. How about it just gets the boot?

Ty-Simpkins: Meet IRON MAN 3's 11-year Old Star

altby Miranda R., Age 15

At 11 years old, Ty Simpkins already has quite a few credits on his resume. Simpkins has been in movies since he was barely 3 months old, and has roles in flicks such as Insidious, The Next Three Days, and Little Children. Maybe even more interesting is how many times he's been cast in films with his real life sister Ryan Simpkins - they play siblings in Revolutionary Road, Pride and Glory and Arcadia, among others.

altBut for Iron Man 3, Ty's first action movie, he goes it alone. Ty plays Harley Keener, an intelligent kid who has a run-in with Iron Man and actually helps him save the day.

Ty's favorite part of working on Iron Man 3 was being able to spend time with its star Robert Downey Jr. "Robert's really fun to work with. He's a really nice guy."

Like many kids his age, Ty is a huge Iron Man fan. "My favorite superhero is Iron Man and I'm not just saying that because I worked on the Iron Man movie. It actually is Iron Man," he says very emphatically....
