Better not make a reservation for this film. It's about a chef at the top of her game when a new sue chef is hired and gets her dead sister's daughter. It's a dopey romantic comedy that not even girls would like. You smile a couple of times, but that's all I have to say thats good. Not even Abigail Breslin can save this film. Ages 12-21, girls only, and even then.

PARENT REVIEW: Death & Drama

You should have serious reservations about taking any child to see this film. No Reservations is not the romantic comedy with a kid it's depicted as in the movie posters and trailers. It's a joyless drama with a romance. The primary storyline is a morose, regimented chef's sister dies and she is suddenly the sole caretaker of a 12 year old girl. The girl's and the chef's difficulty in trying to deal with the death is a central theme and you can bet that elementary school age kids will think about their parents death and could defnitely lead to a lot of questions you're not prepared to answer. Although it is young Zoe who gets Chef Kate and Sous Chef Nick to go on a date, it doesn't take long for Nick to be spending day and night with the two, he making pancakes for Zoe, etc. It's not a good idea to parade your dating life in front of children and we experience that firsthand with No Reservations.
