Seek another movie. The Seeker: The Dark is Rising is about a kid learning he is chosen to find six items which will help him defeat The Dark. My only positive remark is that the fights are pretty good. Unfortunately the rest is bad, such as the story was predictable, suspense was limited, and things that were suppose to be realistic weren't. I can see the book through the film, that the story was rushed, and the book was probably much better. Ages 9+

Scary Parts Not Really Scary

I give it a "B." I liked that I knew how some things were going to go, that I figured it out. The scary parts aren't really scary.

PARENT REVIEW: Not Take-Home Scary

THE SEEKER: THE DARK IS RISING is a thriller adventure that delivers on its promise of bone-chilling moments that aren't take-home scary for most elementary age kids. The story has a good fighting evil storyline where a young teenager is the one person who can save the world. Kids are well served to see stories where adults trust the kids to handle responsibility. The PG rating is accurate, for kids 5 and up if they are not easily scared.
