Fun casting: Watson and Lerman are costars in the upcoming film Perks of a Wallflower. Connelly and Crowe costarred in the Best Picture and Best Actor Oscar winning film A Beautiful Mind. March 21, 2012: Russell Crowe is God's chosen one in Darren Aronofsky's Noah, according to Deadline.com. The film is said to be an "edgy" retelling of the Bible's classic and most kid-accessible story. Crowe is a fantastic, two-time Oscar winner who will act the heck out of the role. Dec. 1, 2011 -- Who will play Noah? Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) passed on the role and Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class) has reportedly met with director Darren Aronofsky about the role. Oct. 4, 2011 -- Director Darren Aronofsky is known for making high-quality, heady films of the Rated R kind. Moreover, you don't see Black Swan, The Wrestler, and Requiem for a Dream and think "there's a guy itching to make a Bible epic." But, it turns out, Aronofsky IS a guy who's been itching to make a Bible epic. He says he's loved the story of Noah since he was a kid and so he's directing Noah from a script he co-wrote with his writing partner Ari Handel. Paramount and New Regency will finance release the film about the legendary father who listens to God and builds an enormous arc so he can make sure life will continue on Earth after a worldwide flood.
