I would gladly pay two hours to see this film. In Time is about a future in which no one ages beyond 25 and time is the new currency. In Time is a brilliant concept of a very likely future but could have been executed a bit better. The acting is all very good and whatnot, a great compliment to the story. The experience of director Andrew Niccol (GATTACA) in telling stories about futuristic societies really shines through and enhances this film. I also feel like mentioning just how good the score of this was as GATTACA had an amazing score as well.
One of the criticisms of In Time is that the movie is too long, however, I think the movie would have benefited greately if it had an extra 30 minutes of running time; more backstory, mood setting, and better pacing could have improved the film. It also seems that they cut a side story about the main character's dad that's hinted at as a big plot twist, but doesn't materialize most likely due to pressures of cutting down the running time. Something tells me that an extended/director's cut of the film will shed some light on this problem. My wish for the future is that director Niccol may find more work in the future as he always proves to have great visions on what the actual future may look like.
