Still some spring in this series' step. Happy Feet 2 is about the same colony of penguins from the last film getting trapped inside their home by a glacier. While not as good as the last film, the sequel tells another great eco-conscious story. Every character in this movie is genuinely likable, even the ones that are needless. All of the voice actors are top notch, even the less seasoned ones. The songs are fairly catchy, but none are true standouts. The film does take a bit of time to rev up, but once it gets going, it's pretty engaging. Word of warning: Happy Feet Two may be the darkest animated film I've ever seen in my whole career; true that the first Happy Feet was also dark, but this definitely ups the ante. Ages 9 and up.
