This movie was great the first time, but i didn't think it could get any BETTER! Just like the first, this movie is great for you and your family. The penguin in the first movie now has a boy of his own. Just like his father, he goes on an amazing adventure with his friends. This time the son has a great voice just like his mom, and the eyes of his dad. Watch this movie to find out what happens with this little penguin and his friends.

when i watched happy feet one i wished they could make a a second one this movie is like a wish that came true its amazing with many different emotions many of you would say its for kids i would disagree cuz its a family and for all ages you would engoy it ud feel like u wanna move ur feet its awesome i recoment with a pick up

Half way through HAPPY FEET 2, you realize you have something in common with the penguins: you’re stuck in a theater feeling like you’re never getting out. Also like the penguins, by the time the movie is over, you’ll be happy and dancing. This movie is about the penguin who invented dance who is trying to teach his kid to have a dream and talent, but his kid gets the wrong idea. HAPPY FEET 2 is not as entertaining as you would probably expect. It was better than the first one for sure, but not by much. It was funny and sweet, but not hilarious and sad – in other words, kind of average. I give this movie a B-. All ages.

HAPPY FEET TWO is the dark chocolate of family films: sweet, tasty but also bitter. Mumble is back now with a young son who does not carry his dancing gene and, in young Eric's shame of not being a good dancer, he and his friends set off for adventure outside of their community. They don't get too far before Mumble catches up with them, but adventure they do find. They return home only to learn a glacier has slammed into their community, trapping the entire village in a crater.

From sheer description of the storyline, you might gather the story is dark. However, it's just the tip of the iceberg, literally. The characters are in peril, and then they're deeper in peril, then it gets worse, even more worse, -- oh then there's some hope -- but no, they're going to die, yep going to die, wait maybe not, scratch that totally going to die...etc, etc.

Of course, not giving up hope in moments of trouble is one of the messages. And for every scene of dark desperation, a positive message exists as well. Embracing what makes one unique, believe in yourself, don't just "follow the swarm" but think for yourself, work as a team, don't give up hope, one person -- no matter how small -- can make a difference...etc, etc.

Just like HAPPY FEET, the sequel is built around an ecological message about climate change, but unlike the original, it sets the table for the story but the audience is not hit over the head and other than some predatory birds, no "bad guy" exists. Kids will not go home feeling bad about being a human (unlike the first one). However, 90 minutes of feeling like all the lead characters were going to die makes me say this film is not for the younger set. For kids 9 and up. Oh, and regarding the 3D - the animation is the star, not the 3D -- I'd save the extra ticket price on this one.
