The script seems like it was written in 10,000 B.C....except at least then, the cavemen would have made it more realistic. 10,000 B.C. is the tale of the first hero who goes after his girlfriend and half of his tribe who are captured by Egyptian slavedrivers. If you're looking for a shortcut on a history or science project, you're out of luck here. A lot of components are unusual and most of the times unrealistic. The effects are good, but that can only go so far in a story as bad as this. 10,000 B.C. manages to go too fast and too slow...just let a woolly mammoth run over me. Ages 10 and up.

Cool movie

Even though 10,000 BC was inaccurate I really enjoyed it. I thought the actors were very good and that the plot was actually pretty interesting. Yes, i do agree even night at the museum had more accurate historic info. :) (it's one of my personal favorites). But I really did like this movie. If you want an action adventure, this is the movie for you!

PARENT REVIEW: Brutally Inaccurate

10,000 B.C. offers no compelling reason for parents to bring their children to see the movie about Cavemen in the Stone Age. Frankly, we derived more historical accuracy in A Night at the Museum. Instead, it's a melodramatic fable. The good news is cavemen didn't use curse words. The bad news is cavemen were brutal, however, 10,000 B.C. does an excellent job at keeping the actual points of impact off camera so you know what's going on without the graphic violence. As far as an epic tale with battles, it's handled as squeaky clean as possible. What is inriguing is how 10,000 B.C. shows how humans weren't necessarily always the top of the food chain and they had much to protect themselves from besides other people. If you do take your kids to see 10,000 B.C., a good activity would be to look up what was true of the time (like using slave labor to build the pyramids) and what was not (almost everything else). For 10 and older.
