Audiences will love the reflection in Mirror, Mirror. This movie is about how Snow White, a young princess, is trying to survive an evil step mother who wants her dead. Snow White runs away, and joins the dwarfs who are thieves. Then, Snow White finds true love with a prince....blah blah blah you know the story. I loved this movie, especially because they made it funny. I thought the actors did a great job but my favorite person would have to be the prince. I loved how the movie is for kids, teens, and adults. The costumes were weird but, what was funny is that the actors looked goofy in the outfits. I didn't hate anything. For kids 3+.

Another Mirror's tale

Everyone has heard the story-the dwarves, the talking mirror, the evil witch, the prince who saves Snow White. But this movie has a big twist. Instead of the prince saving the princess, Snow White learns how to fence and defeats the Wicked Queen by herself.

In the movie, they also changed the dwarves’ names. Instead of the usual Dopey, Grumpy, Doc, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy and Happy, they are now changed to Napoleon, Half Pint, Grub, Grimm, Wolf, Butcher and Chuckles. All the dwarfs’ characteristics are funny and enjoyable. My most favorite characters are Chuckles, and Grub. Chuckles is very hilarious and cheerful, and he likes to chortle a lot. Grub is very quip. He loves to eat and gets the munchies all the time.

There are a few bad words in this movie, such as jerk and idiot. There is also one scene that grossed me out. When the queen was preparing for a party, her beauty routine included, worms, bugs, centipedes, maggots, slugs, and other creepy crawlers.

The Wicked Queen uses this mysterious and bejeweled mirror to attack Snow White and the Dwarves. The mirror is just a mere reflection of the queen. The Queen is a very cruel person, who always demands more taxes from her poor village just for her parties.

This movie is a whimsical, friendly, and extremely funny movie for a whole family to watch. I think Mirror, Mirror is for ages 5+. I rate this movie 4 stars and a Pick It!

Next Oscars: I predict this movie is up for Best C

I took my daughter and her friends to see this movie, however I believe the person who enjoyed it more was me! I loved the story flow and how it was a different take on the classic tale. With all the fairytale redux out there, I'm that person who wants to see them all. I adore watching, "Once upon a time" weekly and always was a huge fan of Disney Princess. This movie had everything you want in a film. The colors kept your attention, the cast was perfect in a way that I couldn't imagine anyone else in these roles. And whoever cast the 7 dwarves should deserve a medal as they were the best actors in this role in awhile. Lily Collins is delightful and who knew she could SING! I had to get home as quick as possible to download the song at the end. I left the movies smiling. Why didn't the kids sit still for it? Well, because they are 7 and they care more about giggling over popcorn than a movie. I don't know many 7 year olds that can hold attention during a film. But I'll tell you one thing, once it comes out on DVD, my daughter will be planted on the couch for the whole thing. Something about the fact of being at home with snacks available makes kids want to watch films. Going to the movies isn't fun for kids all the time. My suggestion is that kids under 10 will probably not sit through this. But this Snow White made me smile and I LOVED every moment of it. =)

Perfect for a Family Night Out

MIRROR MIRROR is a wonderful, contemporary take on the Snow White fairy tale -- one that gives it more of a love smack on the backside rather than a gentle kiss on the lips. In this version from director Tarsem Singh, Princess Snow White starts out meek and insecure, a result of years of being berated by her intimidating stepmother (Julia Roberts, who makes Evil hilarious). However in MIRROR MIRROR, Snow is no longer a girl waiting for her prince to come rescue her. Instead, she finds her strength, skill and ability to lead from the seven dwarfs who give her shelter.

This story does mix in a few other familiar tales. For instance, the seven dwarfs (who were contributing citizens in the Kingdom before being banished by the Evil Queen) are thieves as their only means of support. Snow reinvents the little men into Robin Hood-esque bandits. Snow doesn't condone robbery and the clear fantasy of the story makes it unlikely kids will think of stealing as acceptable as a result of seeing the film.

Additionally, the physical comedy in MIRROR MIRROR sometimes resembles that of THE THREE STOOGES. I'm personally uncomfortable with that kind of disrespectful, live action, poke-in-the-eye/punch-in-the-stomach slapstick violence(disclaimer: TOM & JERRY is banned at my house...I know, I know) but I suspect I'm the only person in the universe who feels that way.

MIRROR MIRROR does have a couple of scenes that may be scary to younger kids -- so it may be a good time to go to the bathroom when the marionettes and/or the Beast attacks. Also, get that bathroom break out of the way because you don't want to miss the catchy "I Believe" song/scene that runs alongside the closing credits.

MIRROR MIRROR is a FANTASTIC movie for the whole family. The whole film is funny and will entertain all ages -- this is a film big brother can see with little sister. Moreover, Julia Roberts ability to make every awful thing that comes out of the Evil Queen's mouth funny rather than truly scary is a joy in itself. The best part is that children enjoy seeing movies where they can predict what will happen next; MIRROR MIRROR satisfies that need while telling a completely fresh story. For ages 5 and up.
