Every summer, Hollywood releases most of its kid and teen movies. This year sees three swinging-for-the-fences comic book movies, the return of some M.I.A. franchises, and the usual animated and comedic fair. It's going to be a busy summer, so here is a calendar of movies that pertain to you so be sure to print this out.

JUNE
Summer movie calendar, previewJune 1. Snow White and the Huntsman (PG-13): It's tough to be the second Snow White film to come out in a short time span, almost as tough as getting Kristen Stewart to change her facial expression. This version provides a much darker, grittier take on the fairy tale and is one of the most anticipated movies of the summer (in other words, buy your tickets early).
June 8. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (PG): Alex and the gang continue their quest to get back to New York City, traveling with a carnival along the way.
June 15. With all the new releases being R, this is a catch-up week.

Summer movie calendar, previewJune 22. Brave (PG): Pixar's outing this year will feature their first female hero. The hero is a Scottish princess that gets in trouble after trying to change her destiny.

June 22. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter: Revisionist history has never been so fun when The Great Emancipator stops vampires from taking over the United States of America. (Got an R rating after all.)
June 29. G.I. Joe: Retaliation (PG-13): Were you not too hot about the last G.I. Joe? The filmmakers are going to try and make up for that by killing off most of the last film's cast in the first 15 minutes. That way, the new cast gets to avenge their deaths while preventing the Cobra Commander takeover.

JULY
Summer movie calendar, previewJuly 3. The Amazing Spider-Man (PG-13): Sony hopes to dominate the Fourth of July with a gritty reboot of the Spider-Man franchise.
July 5. Katy Perry: Part of Me: Hey do like Katy Perry, concert footage, and 3D? Well ,here you go.
July 13. Ice Age: Continental Drift: The gang of animals who, by their own logic, should be extinct are still kicking in the fourth outing of this funny animated franchise.
Summer movie calendar, previewJuly 20. The Dark Knight Rises (PG-13): The epic conclusion to the Nolanverse Batman will try to live up to the high standard that its predecessor set.
July 27. Step Up Revolution: If you loved Step Up 3D, you'll love the fourth installment - it's the same kind of plot but set in Miami with flash mobs.

AUGUST
Summer movie calendar, previewAugust 3. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days (PG). Greg Heffley's poor decisions lead to embarassment for him and a split in the side for you in the return of this hilarious and beloved book to movie series.
August 15. The Odd Life of Timothy Green (PG): A married couple that can't have kids receives a grown 10 year old boy that sprung up from the ground.
August 22. Paranorman: The filmmakers behind Coraline and bring another spooky stop motion film to life.

Ty-Simpkins: Meet IRON MAN 3's 11-year Old Star

altby Miranda R., Age 15

At 11 years old, Ty Simpkins already has quite a few credits on his resume. Simpkins has been in movies since he was barely 3 months old, and has roles in flicks such as Insidious, The Next Three Days, and Little Children. Maybe even more interesting is how many times he's been cast in films with his real life sister Ryan Simpkins - they play siblings in Revolutionary Road, Pride and Glory and Arcadia, among others.

altBut for Iron Man 3, Ty's first action movie, he goes it alone. Ty plays Harley Keener, an intelligent kid who has a run-in with Iron Man and actually helps him save the day.

Ty's favorite part of working on Iron Man 3 was being able to spend time with its star Robert Downey Jr. "Robert's really fun to work with. He's a really nice guy."

Like many kids his age, Ty is a huge Iron Man fan. "My favorite superhero is Iron Man and I'm not just saying that because I worked on the Iron Man movie. It actually is Iron Man," he says very emphatically....
