Universal may have dumped millions of dollars when it dumped its deal with Hasbro, but Sony Pictures is digging up what it sees as future box office profits. Sony Animation will make a movie out of Hasbro's Tonka trucks, the best selling toy truck IN THE WORLD since 1947. Writing the animated film -- and tell us on Twitter @KidsPickFlicks if this worries you like it does us -- is Fred Wolf, the former "Saturday Night Live" scribe who wrote Grown Ups and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. I guess we can count on David Spade to voice the lead character (or truck?). Sony is making the Candy Land movie starring Adam Sandler through his production company Happy Madison (Wolf also wrote Sandler's upcoming Grown Ups 2). Sony is developing a third Hasbro property, the strategy board game Risk, into a film.
