GLADIATORS OF ROME "Winx" at 3D Animation

The creator of Nickelodeon's "The Winx Club" is trading in fairies for warriors. Iginio Straffi is behind the 3D animated film Gladiators of Rome, which is about a lazy gladiator who must win a contest in the Colosseum to win the hand of the girl he's in love with. Michael J. Wilson (Ice Age, Shark Tale) and Jim Hecht (Ice Age: The Meltdown) wrote the screenplay. Rainbow Studios made the film for Paramount with a suprisingly low $40 million budget. Gladiators of Rome opens April 2013.
