The Spidey reboot with Andrew Garfield as a teen Peter Parker has been given the go-ahead for a third film given the record breaking $35 million opening day box office. Sony had already committed to a sequel to kick off the summer in 2014 (May 2), a date that may move. Additionally, during the credits a tease is given for the second film. Source: ScreenCrave |
The Amazing Spider-Man will make two more films, making it a trilogy, at a minimum. The Amazing Spider-Man producer Matt Tolmach announced (and misspelled) the news on his Facebook page writing "It's finally here! The Amazing Spider-Man is the first instalment in a movie TRILOGY that will explore how our fave hero's journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents."
