HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY to Be Split into Two Movies

Katniss Everdeen will be joining families for Thanksgiving three years in a row, very suiting for a movie called The Hunger Games.

Following the trend in teen book series-to-movie adaptations, final book in "The Hunger Games" trilogy "Mockingjay" will be split into two films. The films will come out at Thanksgiving one year apart: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will hit theaters Nov. 21, 2014 and Mockingjay Part 2 is scheduled for Nov. 20, 2015. The sequel, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will open Nov. 22, 2013.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was split into two films as is The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.
