ICONS Hopes to Be a LEGEND

UPDATE: Erwin Stoff, executive producer of The Blind Side, I Am Legend and Water for Elephants, will produce the movie version of the upcoming young adult book Icons about a time when the world is recovering from an alien takeover and mass destruction. Stoff is working on Margaret Stohl's previous book to movie adaptation, Beautiful Creatures.

Aug. 3, 2012 - "Beautiful Creatures" author Margaret Stohl's book series is reteaming with Alcon Entertainment to make movies out of her new books series, "Icons." The first book in a planned four to five book series, "Icons: The Book of Sorrow," opens with a post-apocolyptic Earth after an alien race has destroyed it. The aliens have turned buildings into icons which can kill anything inside in seconds. However, four children are immune to the power and it's up to them to save the planet.

Alcon is currently filming Beautiful Creatures with Alice Englert, Viola Davis, Emma Thompson, Emmy Rossum and "Suite Life on Deck" and "Ringer" star Zoey Deutch.
