The day my brain didn't care. TDTESS is about an alien coming to Earth deciding whether humanity deserves to live. Like most remakes, it just isn't as good as the predecessor. It also isn't bad or good ...just average, from effects to storyline with an overly predictable ending. Apparently, an alien coming to Earth isn't interesting. Ages 10+

PARENT REVIEW: Rent the Original

The original "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is a worthwhile film to watch with your kids. The remake, not so much. Amazing CGI techniques make for frightening moments watching semi-trucks being devoured by a metal bug. These same bugs also destroy American landmarks. For kids 9 and up.
