Knowing

You should go in knowing that Knowing isn’t so good.  Knowing is about a astronomer/mathematician etc. finding a paper from a time capsule full of numbers predicting every major disaster leading up to the apocalypse. At first ,there is good build up in story, creepiness, and acting. This is why it gets an average review. However, it all tumbles down toward the end and falls on an ending which ranks up there with “it was all a dream.” Other than that, effects are really good and disturbing. Ages 11+

I loved it!

I liked a lot. I went with a few of my guy friends and we all liked it. It was very suspensful and i highly recomend it if your into movies that make you think. I dont recommend it for older kids its a much more mature movie.

Terrible

My best friend told me this movie was really good, and that I would like it. He was wrong. The script is bad, the actors are 2-dimensional, and the whole time, everything feels overly traumatic and depressing.

Also, it is extremely disturbing. My nine year old sister had to leave the theater after seeing the plane crash, which is terrifyingly realistic, even for CGI. My mom was also upset because of the slasher movie trailers they played before-hand, so beware.

Keep away from Knowing, it's awful and horrifying.

PARENT REVIEW: KNOWING is When to Stay Away

Here’s what I know: KNOWING isn’t for kids. The story is about a astrophysicist (Nicolas Cage) and his son (Chandler Canterbury) discovering a paper filled with numbers. The dad soon discovers the numbers have a pattern identifying massive tragedies and the amount of people that died in them…and that there are more. If this, and the trailer, aren’t enough of a warning to keep your kids away from this film, let me make it clear: the audience sees horrific disasters occur in front of them in graphic detail, particularly people and animals on fire. That’s just the start.

The fact that several “s” words are used and really freaky men are stalking the little boy are minor compared to the graphic violence depicted in crashing planes and trains as well as the bodies whippingn around consequently.

Keeping kids clear of KNOWING seems obvious to me … and if you took the time to read a parent review on KNOWING…then probably you too. And YET there were several parents with children ages 1-10 in our theater. Ages 13 and up.
