RED DAWN Looks Like "Live-Action 'Call of Duty'"

Written by Tara the Mom    Tuesday, 08 December 2009 09:06

MGM head Mary Parent is excited about the remake of Red Dawn, especially after seeing the dailies. She said director Dan Bradley, who was the stunt coordinator behind the Spider-Man and Bourne movies, has "really outdone himself" and that the film is like watching "a live-action 'Call of Duty.'"

Red Dawn is about a clan of teens who try to take back their small town when it's taken over by overseas forces during war.

The Salaries of Hollywood's Top Actresses

Written by Tara the Mom    Tuesday, 08 December 2009 08:43

Just how much DO A-list movie actresses make these days? Not as much as they used to. "The Hollywood Reporter" analyzed and released a list of the top earners (click on link below) but here is a summary of what the actress usually makes for one film. Notice that other than Angelina Jolie who is the rar female action star as well as dramatic actress, the comedic actresses are the next in demand.

1. Angelina Jolie (pictured) continues to be the biggest earner with $20 million plus a percentage of the backend. She earned $40 mil when all was said and done for Wanted.

2. Reese Witherspoon: $15 million

3. Julia Roberts: $10-15 million

4. Katherine Heigl: $12 million

5. Cameron Diaz: $10 million

6. Jennifer Aniston: $7-8 million

7. Kate Hudson: $7 million

8. Meryl Streep: $5-8 million (What? How is Meryl the bargain choice?)

9. Sandra Bullock: THR didn't have specifics but said Sandy is flexible on price

10. Amy Adams: $5 million

11. Rachel McAdams: $4 millon

It looks like at least six feet are returning to their roles for the Happy Feet sequel: Robin Williams and Elijah Wood (pictured) are in negotiations to voice their characters Ramon and Mumble, respectively; George Miller will once again direct. Animal Logic will again produce the animation.

Voice actors will have to travel to Australia to record their tracks in late January or February.

Happy Feet won the Best Animated Picture Oscar in 2006 and was the first recipient of the KidsPickFlicks "Pick" of the Year. KidsPickFlicks President Riley says, "I hope they make it funny this time."

Radcliffe Says Kissing Key to HALF-PRINCE's Success

Written by Tara the Mom    Monday, 07 December 2009 09:51

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince made $929 million at the worldwide box office and is set to make even more as it is released on DVD/Blu-Ray on Tuesday. Star Daniel Radcliffe says it's due to all the romantic angst that has definitely caught the fancy of tween/teen films this year, "I do think people responded to the fact that there was kissing and hormones and all that kind of stuff." Radcliffe, however, says the lovey-dovey elements gave the film some balance, "If you take out the romantic storyline, it's pretty much two and a half hours of me looking lonely."
