I like that it's a comedy because I love funny stuff and there was a LOT of funny stuff that is mysterious. I don't know if the fountain where the curse happened is real. She (Kristen Bell) was drunk and she saw a boy she liked (Josh Duhamel) kissing another girl. She went to the fountain of love and talked to a statue. She picked up coins and it turns out that there is a curse: if you take the coins from the fountain, the people who threw the coins will fall in love with you. The love part was very grown up; there was a lot of kissing and I felt it was dumb. The movie is really grown up for me. For 13-14 years old and up.

Two clean-cut stars (Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel) and not much in it that's PG-13 (two of the most minor curse words and a couple of mild jokes for adults). The plot of a woman who takes coins from a Fountain of Love in Rome only to discover it makes the people who tossed the coin fall obsessively in love with her takes a "magic" cue that resembles many Disney plots from HERBIE THE LOVE BUG to FREAKY FRIDAY to THE LITTLE MERMAID.

So, is it appropriate to take your kids? Pretty much. Will they enjoy a story about grown-up love? If there's a chance they will, this is the film. WHEN IN ROME has adults acting silly and a storyline that's easy to follow. Additionally, it's pretty darn funny. While we don't see enough of Rome to be satisfied given the title of the film (most of it takes place in New York), there's enough to get an appetite to see the archelogical haven. It's appropriate for 7 and up, however, I'd still recommend tween-age just because it's a love story about adults.
