Dane Cook, CARS

Dane Cook, CARSUPDATE:  The lead character in Disney's Planes will be voiced by Dane Cook (Employee of the Month, Dan in Real Life). "Dusty" is a plane who dreams of competing as a high-flying racer but faces one little bitty obstacle: he's afraid of heights. Planes lands in theaters in 3D on Aug. 9, 2013.

Dec. 28, 2012 -  Planes has been upgraded to first class. The Cars spinoff will be released as a feature film next summer on Aug. 9. It was originally planned as a direct to DVD release. Jon Cryer, however, will no longer voice the main character, Dusty. It's unclear if the other voice talent are still attached.

Aug. 31, 2010 - KPF EXCLUSIVE! While Pixar is working on a big-screen sequel to Cars (aka Cars 2), Disney Studios is readying the Cars direct-to-DVD spinoff titled Planes.

KidsPickFlicks has learned that the actors who've signed up to voice characters are Jon Cryer ("Two and a Half Men") as "Dusty" and Julia Louis-Dreyfus ("The New Adventures of Old Christine") as "Gigi." Other voice actors include Aishwarya Rai (The Pink Panther 2), Stacy Keach (Howard Duff on "The Simpsons"), videogame voice actor Roger Craig Smith, Jonathan Adams ("Bones") and ESPN Radio and TV Host Colin Cowherd ("The Herd with Colin Cowherd," "SportsNation").

Ty-Simpkins: Meet IRON MAN 3's 11-year Old Star

altby Miranda R., Age 15

At 11 years old, Ty Simpkins already has quite a few credits on his resume. Simpkins has been in movies since he was barely 3 months old, and has roles in flicks such as Insidious, The Next Three Days, and Little Children. Maybe even more interesting is how many times he's been cast in films with his real life sister Ryan Simpkins - they play siblings in Revolutionary Road, Pride and Glory and Arcadia, among others.

altBut for Iron Man 3, Ty's first action movie, he goes it alone. Ty plays Harley Keener, an intelligent kid who has a run-in with Iron Man and actually helps him save the day.

Ty's favorite part of working on Iron Man 3 was being able to spend time with its star Robert Downey Jr. "Robert's really fun to work with. He's a really nice guy."

Like many kids his age, Ty is a huge Iron Man fan. "My favorite superhero is Iron Man and I'm not just saying that because I worked on the Iron Man movie. It actually is Iron Man," he says very emphatically....
