The Thing reboot was originally supposed to be released April 29 but U will put Fast Five (the fifth The Fast and the Furious movie) in its place. Universal also announced it will release a sequel to its James Bond-spoof, Johnny English, starring Brit comedic actor Rowan Atkinson. Johnny English Reborn will hit theaters Sept. 16. As part of Universal's resurrection of it's catalog of monsters, it's bringing The Thing back to life. The outer-space creature will scare audiences next Halloween in a prequel of the John Carpenter horror classic. The origin story will have American scientists on an expedition to Antartica who stumble across a frozen UFO and, nearby, a frozen "thing." Logically, they decide to crack it out of its ice prison for research purposes when, of course, it starts attacking them.
