It seems DreamWorks hasn't found just the right boy for a role in the Chris Pine-starrerĀ Welcome to People. Director Alex Kurtzman (part of the Kurtzman-Roberto Orci writing team behind Star Trek and the Transformers movies) is holding an open casting call in Los Angeles on Saturday to find a 12-year old boy who is "athletic, independent and confident." Assumably, the boy has to look somewhat like he could be the child of Elizabeth Banks since she'll play his mother.
The role is the third lead in the film behind Pine (Unstoppable) and Banks (The Next Three Days, Imagine That). The story is about a guy (Pine) who discovers at his father's funeral that he has an olderĀ sister (Banks) and young nephew he never knew about when he's directed to deliver them $100,000 -- something he'd rather not do. The film is striving for a PG-13 rating and is scheduled to start filming in January.
